Measure Y Oversight and Evaluation
The performance of all Measure Y programs and services are overseen by the Violence Prevention and Public Safety Oversight Committee. Members are appointed by the Mayor (three appointees) and City Councilmembers (one appointee for each). This body reviews the annual financial audit, supervises and guides the evaluation and makes policy recommendations and regular reports to the Mayor and City Council. The committee meets regularly at Oakland City Hall.
For more information on the regular meetings, visit the Oversight Committee Meetings page.
Measure Y Oversight Committee Members
Measure Y legislation requires a professional of how well policing and violence prevention services are implemented. Three percent (3%) of the Measure Y funds are dedicated to violence prevention and police services are budgeted for evaluation. The Oakland City Administrator’s Office oversees the contract administration of the Measure Y evaluation. A collaboration led by Resource Development Associates and Gibson and Associates won a competitive process to evaluate Measure Y. You can find their reports on the Evaluation page.
The City Administrator’s Office oversees the coordination of the overall Measure Y implementation. This includes staffing the Oversight Committee and serving as the contract administrator for the Measure Y evaluation. For more information on Oversight and Evaluation, contact:
