Measure Y Fire Safety
Measure Y eliminates rotating closures of fire stations citywide. This is achieved by the re-opening of two engine companies for total strength of 25 engine companies and 7 truck companies. Measure Y also expands paramedic services from 25 units to 33 within 3 years. The initiative also enhances the Fire Department’s community programs that reach Oakland youth.
